This wasn’t planned.  I genuinely didn’t intend to write an album as I was at my lowest mentally.  I wasn’t fit to work so to try and structure my day and help me relax, I sat with my laptop and started putting together melodies and tunes.  Writing down how I felt was also good therapy.  It took time to even dawn on me that to combine the words and music might be a good thing to do.  Recorded, mixed and mastered at home, this wasn’t a fast creative process but I had the time to work at my own pace and learn new recording techniques.  I also had the time to stop and walk away when the anxiety was too much, I could have deleted the whole thing.  I’m glad I didn’t.

Tomorrow’s Children
Music & Lyrics - Loz Jones

How, how have we come to be like this?

No dreams beyond our narrow view

No taking risks

Tomorrow's children

Tomorrow, can we start again?

A shout into space, hiding a face

Calling everyone and no one

A second of outrage frozen forever

Can't undo the damage that's done

And somehow we all give in to the narcissistic posturing

Nobody questions one sided views

The biggest bully is reading the news

Tomorrow's

Winners, Losers

Leaders, Dictators

Heroes, Killers

Creators, Destroyers

Tomorrow, can we start again?

Out of the mouths of babes they say

The innocent wisdom of youth

Enjoy the lies Lord of the Flies

Here comes a cruel and ruthless truth

Tomorrow's

Winners, Losers

Leaders, Dictators

Heroes, Killers

Creators, Destroyers

Tomorrow, can we start again?

Is this the future?

Are we already done?

The human race in decay

Before we've really begun

Silent Fury
Music - Loz Jones

Lyrics - Loz Jones and Lucy Jones

How many times do you have to see?

How many times does it have to be?

You don't know how hard I try

To hold on to hope and keep it high

They say my broken dreams will start to mend

They also say hope kills you in the end

I've not been around long enough

To see so much of the things I love

Erased by calculation so easily

How much more will they take from me?

You want a reason why the words fade under my skin

You want a reason why the shaking tunnel vision begins

You want a reason why silent fury overwhelms my soul

You'll want a reason when I snap and I lose control

It's in our nature, in our heartbeat

but the

Hunter gatherer is obsolete

New blood pumping faster and faster

Not halfway done yet put out to pasture

Shot down, heroes pulled apart

Made to kneel before the new upstart

they make the

Same mistakes no matter what you say

'Cause the fuckers aren't listening anyway

You want a reason why the words fade under my skin

You want a reason why the shaking tunnel vision begins

You want a reason why silent fury overwhelms my soul

You'll want a reason when I snap and I lose control

Disconnected

Give me a badge and bury my words

A desperate cry

Becomes a whisper in a sea of lies

Trivialise this, take away my voice

What have you left me with?

Got my sense of purpose back

Message written, the plan of attack

I have to do this to make them see

There's no one left for me to be

There's no return now the stage is set

What I've got left they won't forget

I'm way beyond help, they've already won

Can't pick up the phone while I'm holding a gun

You want a reason why the words fade under my skin

You want a reason why the shaking tunnel vision begins

You want a reason why silent fury overwhelms my soul

You'll want a reason when I snap and I lose control

Plastic People
Music & Lyrics - Loz Jones

Another hollow, white collar factory

Where they make nothing so there's nothing to see

Package up the nothing and give it a name

And launch it with a cool advertising campaign

You don't know what it is you do

You don't care who you're selling it to

You screw all the people who trust in you

And then you're gone

Tell me when, when is enough?

Plastic people keep on buying into this stuff

Superficial moneymaker

It's never gonna be enough

There's no compassion, got nothing inside

Repeating empty words from an idiot's guide

Got no hesitation in crossing a line

Your fire isn't brighter when you're pissing on mine

Digital spreadsheet cowboy scum

Destroy a hundred lives just to pay for one

Double cross the future, take the money and run

And then you're gone

Tell me when, when is enough?

Plastic people keep on buying into this stuff

Superficial moneymaker

Killing everything we love

Hello caller, what's your name?

The world is burning up, can you feel the flames?

Do you have an idea, how can we be saved?

Or did you just call to remind us all

That you're a big success from your own fucking mess?

When it's all gone, what are you gonna do

When the luxury majority has crushed the few?

With the skills all dead and the talent suppressed

A vacuous hell is the life you'll be left

I know you can't possibly imagine this

While you revel in your temple of material bliss

You grew up in a cold, narrow-minded abyss

It's in your eyes

Tell me when, when is enough?

Plastic people keep on buying into this stuff

Superficial moneymaker

Killing everything we love

I don't need your money

I don't need your respect anymore

One day you'll realise

That you're nothing when they show you the door

Together Alone
Music & Lyrics - Loz Jones

I don't know why we're where we are today

This wasn't the plan but we're here now anyway

When I fell you were there

Everything we have to share

Together alone

In our sea

That no one understands

Why we want to be

Where two blues meet

We're searching for the free

Step away

Take my mind to the here and now

Don't know what to say but you can read my mind somehow

All the talk when it's out of control

One by one you silence all the screams within my soul

Together alone

In our sea

That no one understands

Why we want to be

Where two blues meet

We're searching for the free

I was our sail, I could call the wind

I took the wheel and I promised you things

And now we're drifting

Alone

Remind me again

To reignite the fire

I believe in you

When you say we'll find our heart's desire

Together alone

You cling to me

And I hold on to you

Together alone

What can you see

As we ride against the waves

Together alone

In our sea

That no one understands

Why we want to be

Where two blues meet

We're searching for the free

Heat Of The Sun
Music & Lyrics - Loz Jones

I shouldn't feel like this

I should be better equipped by now

Fighting for control

Worn down just getting here

With a broken auto-pilot

I can't navigate the sinking lows

Crashing through the turbulent highs

Tell me, when will I…

Feel the heat of the sun?

The light seems so far away

No matter how fast I run

Feel the heat of the sun

I've fought this for so long

How have I come undone?

Behind this face the demons stoke the pain inside until that's all there is

Caught in a loop

Lost in the dark I search for light and when I find it burns so bright

I'm forced to close my eyes until the darkness comes

Feel the heat of the sun

When will I learn to kill the pain?

I can't be the only one

All the hurt I cause

And all the guilt that brings

You still hold on to me

I don't need to explain anything

Feel the heat of the sun

You're everything to me

You are the only one

Together we can run

Into the heat of the sun

Restart our life together

And make it a better one

Feel the heat of the sun

It can't be that we've reached the end

We've only just begun

Disconnected
Music & Lyrics - Loz Jones

How did we get here?

Send a message from hell

You won't get an answer

Just crawl back into your shell

In the meaningless noise of the one way traffic

You can drive against the flow and get killed for a second of magic

We're the disconnected you can't see

We're the disconnected majority

We're the disconnected, talk to me

We're the disconnected, do you feel free?

You can hide in your room and build the 'real' you

Believing in your utopian twin and lock away the you we knew

Now you censor yourself

Suppress the voice in your head

What's the point of life like this?

Let's take a selfie while the water turns red

We're the disconnected you can't see

We're the disconnected majority

We're the disconnected, talk to me

We're the disconnected, do you feel free?

Our eyes are open but we refuse to see what's going on

We look at each other but we're all the same

And the ones who could help us have gone

Take a look back

Check your history

Take a look back

Do you feel free?

We're the disconnected you can't see

We're the disconnected majority

We're the disconnected, talk to me

We're the disconnected, do you feel free?

Blabbermouth
Music & Lyrics - Loz Jones

Just another trend my superficial friend

I try to ignore you but I fall for your trolling again

I'm not ashamed I care

I've been around a while

The more you say

The more you fool yourself

The more you make me smile

Your arrogance astounds me

Take a look at yourself

Don't patronise me with opinions from somebody else

I'm not ashamed I care

I've been around a while

The more you say

The more you fool yourself

The more you make me smile

After all we've done you have such little respect

You think you're getting away with this but I can see right through your text

Are you having fun?

Your time will come

I'll be there to remind you when you're battered and bruised

You got your name on my song

I'm not ashamed I care

I've been around a while

The more you say

The more you fool yourself

Blabbermouth

The more you make me smile

Lucky Escape John
Music & Lyrics - Loz Jones

You wake up to hear that repeating tone

Love through to hate flooding out of your phone

It wasn't like this at the start

Millions of people couldn't tear at your heart at once

The world gave you a voice, you tried to use it well

You broadcast from within your celebrity shell

Now the holier-than-thou break through

Stick in the knife and then slip out of view

When everyone in the crowd can have their say

Then the philosophers words will have had their day

Had you survived we would have hurt you John

But when you died you let the love live on

You won't back down against the turning screw

Diplomacy was not the look for you

In your position you're a hypocrite

And in turn your words are counterfeit

You have no function in this new world of fear

Your message of love dismissed as insincere

It's bigger than Jesus, it's bigger than you

It's choking the belief that we can change the view

Everyone in the crowd has had their say

The philosophers words have had their day

Had you survived we would have hurt you John

But you died and let the love live on

And on

Let the love live on

And on

Was that a lucky escape John?

No One Asking Why
Music & Lyrics - Loz Jones

They're the fear in the night

They're the darkness in the day

When the demons took my mind I knew they'd never go away

This war has just begun

Many more are gonna die

There's no one doing the killing and there's no one asking why

You can't see what's going wrong

The damage lies behind the mask

If I open up to show you, you'll wish you never had to ask

Waiting for the train to crash

People watching, standing by

There's a reason for the pain but there's no one asking why

Throwing millions at a cure

Still there's no one asking why

Too tired to keep pretending

Got nothing left to hold the storm

It's time to love me or leave me

I can't continue to perform

Sell us what we need

A plastic life to pacify

Too lazy to resist it so there's no one asking why

No desire to be human so there's no one asking why

Wild Wishes
Music & Lyrics - Loz Jones

You were pushed, I understand

Though you never stood a chance against a loaded hand

You couldn't take another day

Accepting worn-out reasons that were thrown your way

You mobilised and made a stand

A stronger voice reaching out across the land

And there was change, you took control

Then you tried to kill the past in exchange for your soul

Your mind lies

To your green eyes

Now you're not sure that this is what you wished for

You found divides

And you took sides

Now you're not sure that this is what you wished for

They've had enough, it's not okay

Taking from the other side to tip the balance your way

You were many, now you're the few

Your justice turned to vengeance so they're coming for you

Your mind lies

To your green eyes

Now you're not sure that this is what you wished for

You found divides

And you took sides

Now you're not sure that this is what you wished for

You've tied yourself up now

Be careful what you wish for

Your mind lies

To your green eyes

Now you're not sure that this is what you wished for

You found divides

And you took sides

Now you're not sure that this is what you wished for

Be careful what you wish for

Invisible Again
Music & Lyrics - Loz Jones

The sun burns hard through gaps in the trees and miles of curved glass

In a short space of time thousands of people pass

Destinations unknown

Blinkers on, ploughing through the day

No time to stop

No desire to talk

Got nothing left to say

I'm invisible again

Invisible again

When nobody sees me that's when I can take it all in

Take my hand

I know it's not what we had planned

They turned their backs

Shut out the sound and forgot we're still around

Erased, unknown

Discarded, we've been left alone

They walk right through us

We're on the breeze

Now we can do as we please

I'm invisible again

Invisible again

When nobody sees me that's when I can take it all in

I'll go anywhere with you

We can hide in clear view

Shed our old and leaden skin

This is where we can begin

Invisible again, Invisible again, Invisible again, Invisible again

When nobody sees me that's when I can take it all in

Just take it all in

Invisible again

Been taking it in

Invisible again

Again

Coming Back To Life
Music & Lyrics - Loz Jones

You branded me a fool

I called it optimistic

When the knife was in my back

You came along to twist it

You revelled in my pain

Thought you'd never see me again

You can't kill what I believe

You can't beat it out of me

I'm not fixed, you can see the cracks but I'm coming back, I'm coming back

You can't kill what I believe

You can't beat it out of me

Don't start your victory lap cause I'm coming back

I'm coming back to life

Had 'whack-a-mole' in my brain

Too many to beat down

As I fought another war

You marched into my town

In the dark for so long

Repeating your vicious song

You can't kill what I believe

You can't beat it out of me

I'm not fixed, you can see the cracks but I'm coming back, I'm coming back

You can't kill what I believe

You can't beat it out of me

Don't start your victory lap cause I'm coming back

I'm coming back to life

The damage will remain

The scars helps me remember

Although I'll always feel the pain I wouldn't change a thing and you'll never win

You can't kill what I believe

You can't beat it out of me

I'm not fixed, you can see the cracks but I'm coming back, I'm coming back

You can't kill what I believe

You can't beat it out of me

Don't start your victory lap cause I'm coming back

I'm coming back to life

Kingdom Of The Blind
Music & Lyrics - Loz Jones

You wanted me to make things then you told me what to make

When you told me how to make them I was another drone to break

Can't just fill the holes with wine

Too many punctures to ignore

So sure I'd rather be poor than payed to make you more

In the kingdom of the blind

It's where I lost my mind

For the likes of you it was designed

Cause in the kingdom of the blind

The one eyed man is king

You suck the joy out of our lives

Stealing all the time we need

Unaware of what you're doing or the level of your greed

You were born up in the clouds

On the ground they start to burn

You send a drop or two of rain a thousand lifetimes couldn't earn

In the kingdom of the blind

It's where I lost my mind

For the likes of you it was designed

Cause in the kingdom of the blind

The one eyed man is king

“After months of isolation Mr Jones has produced a fine body of work. Hard hitting, intelligent and articulate. A complex look into the mind of a writer who pulls no punches. The listener will be connected. ”

“The detail and subtleties in this album are almost endless; while the songs themselves remind us that inspired song writing about serious issues is not yet a lost art form.

This is a very personal and powerful piece of work.

It is, by far, Loz’s best work to date.”
