A cranky old Mac in the spare room, a temperamental version of Cubase and a microphone inside a duvet hanging from the ceiling. I hadn’t written or recorded for 6 years and then suddenly, the huge overwhelming desire to create something for myself made me plug in and unload the noises in my head. In the space of a couple of months it was done. Some of it is really clumsy and some of it (I think) is really good. Despite the production quality, I’m still very proud of these songs. It was a huge learning curve.
Apathy Dome
Music & Lyrics - Loz Jones
Can’t get in, and can’t get out
Don’t have the guts to shout it out
Get pushed around, don’t make a sound
You know an answer can’t be found
There’s no direction, every book here’s been read
No change to the future, coz it’s all been said
One for us and ten for you
Crush in another B&Q
Don’t try and build your kingdom here
The nimby boys have made that clear
I’ve laid my cards down with this shit little town
Not going forward, just going around
If it’s getting you down
Jus t get out of town
This ain’t no home
It’s just an Apathy Dome
Apathy Dome, you’re not my home
you’re not my, you’re not my home
Go by bus or take the train
Or drive your money down the drain
Degree the kids and churn them out
Don’t tell them what it’s all about
This ain’t no home it’s just my Apathy Dome
If it’s getting you down
Jus t get out of town
This ain’t no home
It’s just an Apathy Dome
You’re not my, you’re not my, you’re not my home
Oh and you know you’re stuck in one way traffic
A warren full of concrete, metal and plastic
This ain’t no home, it’s just my Apathy Dome
This ain’t no home, it’s just my Apathy
When I See What You Do
Music & Lyrics - Loz Jones
There are no words, for what you deserve
There's nothing I could take from you
No, nothing of equal worth
You hold a gun
You hold a gun in the name of god
And you expect me to pray?
Can you justify, when you terrify?
You put a barrel between the eyes of a child when she cries
You hold a gun
You hold a gun in the name of god
And you expect me to pray?
It seems so easy to fight
As your fist flies your reasons ignite
I try to follow as you say your piece
I look at what you do
It's hard to believe
You pay with lives, while families cry
It's not dollars that you spend
How easily you lie
You hold a gun
You hold a gun in the name of god
And you expect me to pray?
And you expect me to pray
How can I believe
How can I believe
When I see, when I see what you
Reckless Journey
Music & Lyrics - Loz Jones
It's dark, the road, it's never ending
Reflected lights only hypnotise
Foot to the floor to my destination
But she drives just to stay alive
And then she's there with me
I can't believe it's real
I try to understand but she's the only one, to knowhow it feels
In the fast lane, mirror looking back
Her eyes cut from a magazine
I get closer in my fascination
Is it the girl or the silver machine
And when the sun comes up,
She is there behind the wheel
I try to follow her but she's the only one, to know how it feels
I turn away, losing touch,
I think she wants me. Perhaps I think too much
Am I the only one?
I'm not the only one
It's dark, this road, it's never ending
Reflected lights only hypnotise
Foot to the floor to my destination
But she drives just to stay alive and I try
To understand
To follow her
I’m not the only one
50 Storeys
Music & Lyrics - Loz Jones
Hey come on won’t you leave me alone
Can’t you give me some space
Don’t make a sound
Leave a patch on the ground
Somewhere to land my face
Oh, it’s not easy
Leaping to your doom
Sitting up here I can see things so clear
I’ve never ever felt so good
Because I’m 50 storeys high
Can see 50 miles wide
And there’s 50 people standing below
And they want me to jump
Go on, put on a show
Here come the brigade
With crash mats and band aids
Making a space in the crowd
Maybe I’ll c limb just a little bit higher
And float away on a cloud
‘Go back inside, you know it’s not worth it’
That’s all I hear them say
But I’m not going to
I’ll give them something to do
I’m making my mark on the day
Because I’m 50 storeys high
Can see 50 miles wide
And there’s 50 people standing below
And they want me to jump
Go on, put on a show
I’ve brightened up their sad little lives
I’ll give them a wave just before I dive
Because I’m 50 storeys high
Can see 50 miles wide
And there’s 50 people standing below
And they want me to jump
Go on, put on a show

Lyrics - Lucy Jones
He was so old, he'd seen it all
But in his bed, he heard the call
He closed his eyes, and began to fall
He walked, then ran, and left us all
He saw new births, he saw men die
At times a tear was in his eye
He never knew, he couldn't fly
He flew, and with him, so did I
And sometimes, the hardest thing is to let go
When you've stayed so long how do you know
Is it time, time to go
Should you leave now?
He shared his world, he gave it in a frame
We played in puddles, when it rained
It broke my heart, to see his pain
I gave him tears, he gave me back a grin
And sometimes, the hardest thing is to let go
When you've stayed so long how do you know
Is it time, time to go
You should leave now

Not The Only One
“In a sea of manufactured music that is today's scene, Loz Jones shines like a beacon for quality. If you like your music to be intelligent and well produced, this is the artist you should be listening to”
Andy R
“Not The Only One - Space Glam Rampant Rock! ...50 Storeys is a song doomed for success. The digital treatments are utterly delicious and his voice is remarkable!”
Rene Atilio Araya
“Loz Jones, took on the mantel with a tremendously polished performance of their trademark guitar and keyboard rock, Loz covered every square inch of the stage with his imposing and dynamic presence. The crowd lapped it up!”
Martin Kent - Bridgefield
